The Repertory Singers is an auditioned, mixed chamber choir conducted by graduate conducting students. Its format offers laboratory rehearsal and performance experience for conductors and singers alike. The ensemble is designed to appeal to students who wish to be part of an ongoing conducting masterclass environment as well as those wanting to build knowledge and skill in the areas of sight-reading, conducting gesture, rehearsal techniques, and choral repertoire. Repertory Singers typically performs six programs of varied repertoire throughout the school year, spending 5-6 weeks on each program. Programs may be conducted by a single graduate student, or shared between two or more. The choir often collaborates with chamber orchestras composed of UGA instrumentalists.
